New Pet

Hey guys, my mom asked me quite an odd question the other day. That question being, "what animal are you going to get next?" She suggested some sort of large reptile which surprised me even more. At first she was very, very scared of my Leopard Gecko, now that it`s tame, she seems fine with it. I think she is wondering if I want a new reptile or something. Box turtles really got my attention btw. Any suggestions?

Why not visit a local animal shelter, a rescue shelter or some reptiles up for adoption at craigslist? Might give you an idea of what you want next.

Box turtles are really cool animals, but they are endangered in many areas. Check this link to see what the laws in your state are: North American Box Turtles State Laws

A less brightly colored alternative might be something like a Russian Tortoise. I work at a pet store that carries them, and they are pretty fun to watch, especially when they get fresh fruit and veggies. Any tortoise or turtle has a massive time commitment in terms of lifespan, so keep that in mind.

No matter what you get, research, research, research. Get everything ready, and get the animal last.
