The most important thing is that they have water at all times. I feed mine (adult leopard geckos) twice a week, and usually give them around 6 large crickets at each feeding. If you're worried, you can fatten them up before you leave (they store extra fat in their tails, so if the tails get thick, they can live off of that for a while if the caretaker screws up.)
I really like that idea of only feeding them twice a week large meals of course but they're more likely to take it that way and give more of a feeding response I'll try it with mine once she gains a lil weight and calcium after she went into a weird half burmation
