Hey guys, over the summer I will be going on vacation for approximately 1 week. So I'm wondering what do I do with them? Ive left my Whites before and Ive gone as far as Florida and had no problem! But that was one frog and he likes dead crickets so people were not that freaked out about the crickets ( I just had a friend or family member take care of him) but I am growing a small collection and care requirements are a little different for each one by collection by collection I mean two frogs and if I can get this vacation thing figured out I'm getting a leopard gecko. so what should I do?
Thanks a lot if this is answered well this could change my whole future in the reptile and amphibian life style!
Why not make a note regarding feeding and stick/place it near your frogs' enclosure for the caretaker to see
When I leave on vacation I tape a note to each enclosure with details on what to do misting/ water bowl rinsing/appropriate temps&humidity. And for those that need crickets/roaches while im gone I pre package each feeding in a deli cup with some reptomin pellets and a little water gel dish. So all they have to do is pull food/gel out with a pair of tongs and dump them in.

You can also have the pet sitter come over while you are still there for a few days and have them take care of them, if there are any problems you can be there to watch and correct so they will know what to do and what is expected of them. Should lessen issues etc and make sure they know the number of your herp vet and the number where to reach you should an emergency occur.
Here's a crazy idea, but what if you hired a neighbor kid, a little 10 year old boy maybe, for say, $25, to come over each day you're gone and feed the critters? When I was a kid I made money that way all the time watching all sorts of animals or at least feeding them.
If you make very detailed, clear instructions and pick a tough, hardy little kid, I think everybody wins. You will get a carefree vacation, your pets will get good earnest care from a good local kid, and that kid will make more money than he could any other way, plus get to check out and interact with all your critters.
Just depends if you have a trustworthy neighbor kid who can handle it physically and mentally. If not, what about a cousin, neice or nephew?
Child labor is cheap labor and kids love animals, it's win/win!
