Yup, drylok would work fine. The area between the rocks, I covered with black tinted Restore concrete refinisher, and while it was wet, I sprinkled some cinders that I saved during the destruction process of the rocks onto the paint to make it look seemless.

Started planting this tank last night. I still have 7 terrestrial pants that should be delivered this week that have to go in. A couple plants I ordered were special order only. I'll work on the aquatic section during the next week or so.

Stage 2 planting completed. The Indian almond leaves should finish sinking in another day or two. The remaining terrestrial plants should be shipped tomorrow and I pick up the painted fire red shrimp for the tank next weekend.

Thanks guys! I think I got everybody, except Neil (sorry buddy) covered.

Ferns and moss were the main ingredients to this recipe and I have included:

Ferns: 2 terrestrials (autumn fern and Japanese painted fern), 2 epiphytics, a selaginella, a marginal, and java fern in the aquatic portion. There is also a lycopodium in there (fern ally) in the form of a huperzia squarrosa (donated by Lynn).

Moss: 4 types of field collected moss, Taiwan moss and java moss

I originally planned all violets for the tank, so there are 2 minis and 4 of it's relatives (gesneriads) in there.

Heather got me hooked on begonias, so I added a pair of them as well.

All in all, I think there are close to 20 species of plants in this tank. I will try to get a full plant list and locations for this tank by the end of the week.

It took me much internal debate and discussions with MANY froggers to decide to move my Ranitomeya Imitator 'Varadero' to this tank. The first night I moved them in here, I had one hand on the door and my shrimp net in the other hand, just in case there was an issue with the depth of the water in this tank. I am happy to say that these guys are AMAZING swimmers and they LOVE the water. They jump in intentionally and swim all over the place! They jump on crypt leaves and just chill. They will be even happier when the tiger lotus leaves hit the surface and they have their own little Lilly pads to sit on.

Pics are in order, so, I would like to officially welcome Finn (m) and Quinn (f) to their new home!!

Lovre it Bill! Curious what the internal debate and the discussions with the other forgers said about how sharp the rocks were vs the sensitive skin of the frogs. Tank looks absolutely stunning and your frogs are beautiful!

Thanks Shardae. It's not very hard, anyone can do it. Stay tuned though. Due to multiple pump failures (ugh!) this tank is currently being rebuilt. I should have some new pics of it soon. I'm redoing the lid after work today, and I opened up some of the planters last night and purchased new pumps this past weekend. Hopefully, I'll get some of it done this weekend.

You do not give yourself enough credit Bill, not anyone can do that. Some of us just do not have the eye to arrange it all just right. Mine always end up with a completely chaotic over-planted look, not the beauty you have created. I can do gardens on a large scale, even professionally designed my first ones last summer, but terrariums are a struggle for me.

You're in luck then. I am in the process of writing an article that runs you step by step on building. From the beginnings of design all the way through to completion and planting. This tank will be used for part of it. Once you see how easy it really is, everyone will have truly stunning vivs!!

To bad you have to redo it, but I agree with Amy, that is not an easy task to complete. Many people just throw stuff in and hope it looks right, unlike you
