My white's tree frog escaped during the night and I found the poor thing half dead and tangled up in a ball of dust! I removed all the dust and debris from her immediately and put her in a dish of water. She is alive but not moving and she is the most awful splotchy brown color even though it is daytime. Please help!! What can I do to save her?
Welcome to FF and sorry for your frog's mishap. Well, myself would try to perk it up with a baby electrolyte bath. You will need unflavored Pedialyte (or similar baby electrolyte product) to make the bath. Mix 90% 80F dechlorinated tap with 10% unflavored Pedialyte and bath frog in solution to it's chin. Can use a small critter keeper or plastic bowl with holed up top. Place frog in it for 20-30 minutes and cover with towel to keep heat in and reduce stress. Afterwards you can release frog in it's cage and let us know how it went. Do offer some food that night. Here is a nice care article to ensure frog's enclosure is set-up ok: Frog Forum - White's Tree Frog Care - Litoria caerulea.
Dangers to it's escape are that your frog might have exposed itself to household chemicals in the surfaces it touched. Hopefully it wasn't too bad and frog will recover in time. Good luck!
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog!
Thank you so much!!! I have never heard of this before and I will certainly give it a try!
Following along.

It's been a day and a half and I think she will be okay! The baby electrolyte bath did seem to help quite a bit. She's back to being green at least, though not quite as bright and clear as before. One strange thing, though, is that she now has a grey/white splotch on the back of her head that is clearly different from her normal spots. It started yesterday as a ring and now looks as if someone splattered bleach on her (this did not happen of course, I say that only to help visualize). Any thoughts?
Yes, it starts as a stress spot. Try and minimize stress by keeping the area calm and quiet. Apply original neosporin with a Qtip to the spot daily. Avoid the eyes. Apply while your frog is sleeping. A gently rolling motion works well.
