I've been away for a few months, but I can answer your question. Your reputation changes with the number of times that you're awarded points by other members. You can award points to other members when you appreciate information in a thread they've posted, etc., by clicking on the star between Thanks & the Triangle in the light blue bar below their post.

By the way, Bill isn't called the Deranged Chipmunk for 'nuthin. He does give good advice though.
