It sucks that Australia is so hard to get exotics in. But no worries, I'll take plenty of pics of them so she can see them anytime! Lol

apparently, the electrician was motivated and got up off his keister and wired the cabinet tonight. as he was wiring, the contractor came in and yelled at him for 20 minutes for not installing GFI outlets, so he will soon be replacing the standard grounded outlets with GFI outlets. Now, if only the painter shows up this weekend, we'll be back on track with this build:

plugged it in, tested all outlets and everything is good. now i can install a power strip with timer for my lighting. and all other accessories can each be plugged in to single outlets.

Looks good Bill, Only one of the outlets needs to be a GFI. It will protect the other ones you put in there all on it's own . I normally do the outlet that is the closest to the source as a GFI, it will protect your house panel from any surges from the cabinet due to water and such. That will save you a bit of cash in this project. I won't even charge ya for the tip Hope the painter shows up for work this weekend. I would hate to hear how you kicked your own butt lol.

Thanks Paul. I had not thought of that, it just works as a breaker. Duh, you'd think with as much electrical that I do at work, I would have known that. Truly a face palm moment for me lol

We all have face palm moments. I get caught up in the excitement of a build and will take pictures and share with the wife. Occasionally she will point out something and say "Shouldn't you do X" and I will slam my head on the table and fix it lol.

I've been a huge Doctor Who fan since Eccleston (ashamed to admit that I haven't see the classic Doctors yet) and I am super excited to see the progression of this tank! What an awesome idea! Some lucky frogs are going to have a home that's bigger on the inside

Thanks!! Eccleston was good, but I just couldn't separate him from "Raymond colotri" (his character in gone in 60 seconds). I still think Tennant was the best of the modern series, and am very excite to see what capaldi bring to the show.

This is pretty awesome Bill. I've always wanted a TARDIS in my living room, this might be a good way to sneak one in.

I also consider Baker 'my Doctor', but I confess to only starting to watch a few years after his run was over. He's still the one I grew up with as that's were my local PBS was at when I was still in PJ's asking to stay up past my bedtime to watch 'that show with the freaky music'. The new revival seems to be taking a turn for the worse lately and I'm hoping for good things from mr potty mouth (it's hard to imagine capaldi not swearing every 3rd word after seeing The Thick of It)

Looking forward to seeing your progress!

Haha, that's very true about Gone in 60 seconds! I liked the first season with Matt Smith, but man, it kind of went downhill from there with him. I feel like they didn't know what to do with Matt after the Ponds. I'm putting my money on Capaldi to breathe some life back into the show. Although, seeing Capaldi's role in Torchwood (Children of Earth) made me temporarily feel weird about having him as the Doctor since those two universes seem to cross paths every once in a while. Either way I'm excited though. I'll have to watch The Thick of It, I've heard it's great

I meant to ask, are you going to try to incorporate a little blue LED on top of the tank somehow? It'd be cute but I don't even know if that's possible. I am the LEAST handy/technically savvy person I know, plus a new frog owner to boot.

Thanks guys! It is definitely going to be weird seeing capaldi as the doctor for the first few episodes. Especially after seeing his other roles I really liked him on torchwood.

Brian, go for it! Build one! Kate, if by a blue led, you mean the jelly glass jar lamp on top, yes it will indeed have that iconic light, but I decided against making it flash. I also considered adding the sound effect, but thought that would get annoying after a while. Not to me, but to others in my home. But then again, my entire family are Whovians, so you never know.

I also made a slight design change. I am not going with a 36x18x24 tank inside, but (2) 18x18x24 tanks, themed together, hopefully seamless between backgrounds.

Currently, this, and all my other projects are on hold. My wife and I are shopping for a new house, so the less I have to move, the better. This build will probably resume in the fall/winter
