The sun was just about gone when I went outside to turn the hose off and I found this little guy on the spray nozzle. I recently moved up to central California and I remember these little frogs from when I was a kid. As I recall they can change from green to a sandy color.
I believe this is the species name. Correct me if I'm wrong.
And yes...I let him go after I snapped the pictures.

I was surprised to see him out this time of year. The weather here in CA has been weird this year - a lot of warm weather during January and February. I'm also seeing a lot of baby garter snakes all over the place. Normally I didn't see baby reps/amph starting from about the end of March or April.
My new place is on the outskirts of town so that may be it. I was told by a neighbor that there's a nearby creek or canal that spews out tons of baby Western Toads every spring.
