    Default Temperature Concerns

I have set up my terrarium, and think I have figured out my humidity problems, but now I am faced with temperature problems...

The temperature in the habitat was hovering around 70F all day and night without going above 75F. So I went out and purchased two heating pads, zoo-med 10-20 Gallon heating pads, and the temperature on one side of the tank now goes to around 80F, but the other side of the tank is now hovering around 65F-70F. Should I place heating pads on both sides of the tank, or is this good to have that much of a gradient in the tank?

BTW, I also keep a 5.0 UVB light on during the day, and a 40W Red Night Light on at night for heat and viewing light.

The temp needs to be higher.

Keep more than one thermometer in the enclosure (AND move them around) ?
If the enclosure feels/looks /dry ...mist more.
Keep a hygrometer in the enclosure as well

I think I haven finally gotten that figured out. I have the lights and heating pads on different switches, so some are on certain times of day and some aren't. I have noticed that during the night it is around the suggested 68-75 and during the day it hovers around 85. Now, to figure out my humidity levels.... Cant fix one without breaking the other... lol

Depending on how you heat the terrarium and the lights being used Humidity can be a real pain. LED lights will stop your humidity from plummeting when the lights are on.

I dislike heat pads as much as possible. I still recommend and stand behind using Ceramic Heat Emitters (CHE) over anything else in a tree frog tank.
