I hate to say it but you might have better luck finding the correct battery at a radio shack.

As my pep grew he lost his bright green in favor of dark and light brown.

also mood and health will affect color.
your little one is still getting use to its new home and daily regimen. Sot it might be a little stressed. But the good feeding response is a good
sign that it is doing good.

If I still have issues then will just take it back n hope that Petco will have a better one or at least a better selection to chose from.

    Edited for question:

On a different note.. do these guys change color a bit ? yesterday when I picked him up he was a really dark color almost a dark black/brown with just one or two areas of bright green on them, after I got him home and settled he lightened up a bit now today when I went to feed him he is a bit lighter in color no where near the dark dark color he was in the pet store.

and got him to eat 3 little crickets ( dusted ) using tongs, he picked up eating from them right away, I was the one having issues with grabbing the itty bitty crickets with em.

Ok finally got the battery and got the gauge working..I think its working..the humidity reading was a bit crazy..was reading 99% but I think that was maybe because of where I had originally placed it, near the water dish and the tank was sprayed a few hours earlier and still had a bit of condensation on the back panel. The temp was very worrying, it was reading 73°F so I have the heater on and monitoring it to reach about 82 that should also help bring the humidity from 84%, where is was reading after moving it away from the bowl, down a bit lower. And if they are offered food but don't eat should I offer again a bit later or wait until the next day, he/she is probably really stressed right now as I have been messing around in the habitat with the gauges n trying to get the stuff moved around a bit better to give him a bit more hiding space.

Yes you have to be careful not to mist the sensor, It will make it malfunction.
if you do get it wet just take it out and take out the battery and use a hairdryer set to cold air and dry it out for at least 5 min. and put the battery back in
    and check the read out.

placement of the sensors is critical.
I place the sensors on the opposite side of the tank from the heat source and in the middle from the bottom and top of the tank.
this way you will have a temp gradient 9a hot side and a cool side and it will allow the frog to choose the temp it likes.

thanks for the info, trying to figure this thing out still, finally figured out the right probs but when I moved them everything went haywire.. the humidity that was reading at almost 80% tanked out to under 30% when I moved it from one corner to the middle of the tank and the temp went from 82 down to 76 from just moving the probe about an inch..idk what is going on but will prob buy something else when I get my stipend next month and just keep this one as a temporary back up. I think I am going to try and put the probs in the larger tank and not the small one hes sitting in maybe that will help sort it out, no worry about accident spraying etc.
