Some of the blue poison dart frogs in our collection have developed raised circular patches of beige colouration on their skin on their backs, has anyone seen or treated anything like this before? The frogs seem otherwise healthy and are feeding well and behaving normally, and the discoloured patches are not weeping or open sores, they almost look like they have been stuck on.
In one book we came across a description of something called 'bone rot' which starts at the skin and eventually reaches the bone if untreated, but I was unable to find any more on this on the internet.
Any insight as to what this might be would be very helpful! of course we will continue to monitor the frogs and will consult the vet if their condition worsens.

yes, I think I have attached one to this reply although I am not 100% sure how this forum works! They have actually changed in appearance and now look more like fungal colonies growing ontop of the skin, and have a small circle of grey in the centre of the 'colony' with a clear patch of translucent 'jelly', for want of a better word, around it. Still quite flat but raised, if that makes sense?
Definitely an infection of some sort. It looks fungal to me also. Can you contact a vet? It will progressively get worse if untreated. Vet prescribed properly diluted SSD cream can help but he likely needs a systemic treatment. Call them soon and you can cure him. If you wait too long it's possible you may not be able to reverse the damage, and it may become severe.
Put your baby in a quarantine tank until he is better.
