For the past 4 - 6 weeks a local big chain pet store had a RETF for sale for $60. I wanted to buy it right away when i saw 3 full grown crickets in the tank and the frog looks to be only 2 months out of water. The humidity was way way to low and the temp was out of whack as well. Each week I went back for some reason or another and I always looked to see if the frog had been saved yet. I wanted so bad to buy it and take it home and take care of it but could not do it because of the ridiculous asking price.
Tonight I went to get my Daughters fish tank water tested and saw it still in there but the price had been reduced to $50.00. I told the manager I would take the frog for $20 and he said he couldn't go lower than $50 (he wasn't allowed to). I said well $50 is to much for a frog that has been cared for improperly. So he said "I could go to $40" I said cool, but $20 is my limit. He said $30 then $25 then $20. We now have the little guy in a quarantine setup at the house. He ate 5 crickets wicked fast right away and looked at my wife and I and I swear he said thank you
He will make a great addition to the 4 we already have.
Great save! I hope it lives a long time with you and your family.
He is looking good this morning. He pooped last night and ate good. He is roughly the same size as the other 2 RETF that are still in their quarantine setup because they look to much like food for the 2 bigger RETF lol. I am working on a new tank for the Reds and will try to introduce 4 of them together once the new tank is ready.
Paul,
What a wonderful, happy ending.
They hit the honey spot !
