    Default Azureus HELP!

I'm considering buying a vivarium with an Azureus from a guy who is moving. He got the setup in December. It includes the Vivarium (16x16x20), the frog, substrate/soil, moss, 3 plants, and a reptifogger). He's also selling the fruit fly culture with it. He also said the soil has isopods in it. He said the frog has a big appetite and has grown a lot since he got it as a froglet back in Dec. Since i'm such a noob, only researching this the last few days, is there any pearls of wisdom anyone would like to throw in? He's selling everything for $200. The frog alone at a local pet store is $70. Seems legit, and even if the frog isn't healthy I think the setup is worth it in case I have to replace the frog.

A question I currently have tho is do the Azureus like water? I know they need humid environments and aren't aquatic, but would making a little pond in the vivarium be ok as long as I make a slope so its easy to get out so he don't drown? also are the fruit fly cultures self sustaining and easy to maintain? Also do the the vivariums tend to smell bad, and if so how do i avoid that? Sorry for all the questions but I'm really interested in the hobby and since I found a pretty good deal I'd like to go ahead and get it. Unfortunately that doesn't leave a lot of time for me to do my homework.

Let me know what you think guys! Thanks a lot!

Hello an welcome to FF ! From reading your other thread, appears this question has been OBE (overcome by events) .

    Jeremy,

Cograts on your new frog! My name is Jason. My brother Josh and I recently started Genesis Exotics. On our website www.genesisexotics.com we have a care sheet page for all of the frogs that we breed. Azureus is one of the care sheets we have. Any information you need will be on that page. We also have a frequently asked questions page. Also, we are available via email genesisexotics@gmail.com for any other questions not on our care sheets or FAQs sheet. I too am a beginner (my brother has 15 years experience). This is why our website is designed specifically for beginners.

We do have things for sale as well, but we have no problem giving you all of the support you need to get comfortable with this hobby! Congrats again.
