I would do away with those pellets you are using. They are meant for small animals. Large frogs can not get enough of them without making a huge mess. Move up to something bigger so you can put less in the tank and more in the frog.

And as Louis said you can add in frozen thawed items to your mix.

This makes lots of sense, and I bought him some ReptoMin yesterday. I gave him a broken ones, he is still a little small for the whole stick I think. Anyway he grabbed it, and spit part back out. Then he went to the bottom of the tank and worked at getting the rest out of his mouth. I am hoping that it is just because he ate yesterday. I tried bloodworms (he's eaten them before once or twice) and his old pellets. He hasn't eaten today that I know of. He is singing at me this evening, and swimming all over like he's trying to escape. He spent most of the day hiding under a ceramic turtle too. Someone tell me if I am worried about something or nothing...

Sometimes when they have been eating something else it takes a while to get them on a new food. Especially challenging with young males as they are far less greedy and outgoing then females.

Thanks all. He is loving the Reptomin now and brine shrimp. I was not feeding him properly for way too long. He is getting bigger now, and is about 10 to 12 months old now. How big should he be before I cut back on feeding him as often? He is just over 2 inches I think in the body. He is a big eater now, and I hate to cut him off if he is going to get bigger.

Glad your frog is eating good again. If a boy and 2 in. SVL; he could be full grown already. Myself would continue feeding it as you are, for as long as it is actually growing. If it stops growing and get's very fat you might want to cut back on the feeding to prevent obesity.

Try and get some not dyed Night Crawlers at Walmart or a local bait shop and add them to diet. You will need to cut from pointy end into pieces same as frog length. They are very nutritious and most ACF love them. Good luck !

New picture today of this same little guy. I don't really know what I am looking at for size, so I put a ruler on the tank and hoped he would be still. Does he look relatively full grown? If he is full grown will he ever stop wanting to eat daily or should I just ween him off of eatting daily?
