I have noticed that the female I sexed is pretty large. As in, her exoskelton looks stretched, as if she had been overfed. However, I do not think overfeeding could be the case because her tankmate was/is completely fit. Yet, the tankmate was male and I have heard of people accidentally getting pregnant scorpions. I will try to show some pictures, but I would like to have a good guess to possibly prepare for some little bundles of joy.

A dark red telson is a sign of maturity so it could be. But honestly she just looks normal fat to me in the pics

I don't think she looks over fed, they are generally plump scorps, the other one may have molted not long before you got it and it hasn't put the weight back on yet

Though would anyone know if this is a true emperor? I got the suggestion of my guys being asian forest scorpions instead? From google images it's hard to tell, so anyone with an experienced eye would be appreciated.

Can you get a better shot of the chela? I can't really make them out in the one you've posted so far. But that is the easiest way to tell between the two. The top edge of P. imperator are rounder then heterometrus sp.'s

From another forum, their best guess is an asian forest scorpion/giant asian forest scorpion. Opinions?
I thought they looked like emperors, but I am new to keeping scorpions.

It does look like an Asian Forest, they are very very similar. They get sold as imperator often. IDing it down to which species is a little tricky and beyond my abilities. Asian forest scorpion is a really general term which covers an entire genus. Personally I recommend tossing common names out the window with arachnids, just makes things more confusing.

Yeah, seeing as there are 33 some odd ones they could be, but my *best* guess is a malaysian forest scorpion. They have a similar body and size.
And this should be fun as a first scorpion lol
So far I've only seen them as very docile/shy. I had no problem picking them up to sex them, or when I showed my girlfriend later. The male is especially shy and docile. I wonder if females of this species are more aggressive?
