Healthy frog?

I am trying to maintain my clawed frog's health and reading as much as I can. The things I have read say he should be 'plump'. The internet also scares the bejeezees out of me about this 'red leg' disease. My frog (Michigan) is about 9 months old, and is definitely a boy (arm stripes). Can anyone tell me if he is 'plump' and if he generally looks healthy?

I worry about the students in my classroom stressing him out, and I don't know if there are any physical signs of stress to look for.

What would I feed him to fatten him up? He eats pellet food 'for aquatic frogs and tadpoles' right now. I tried little chicken pieces with him a couple times, he detected it and seemed to like it, but had a hard time finding it. In general he has a hard time finding his food. He comes to the top of the water, jumps at it, but isn't very successful. I try to watch him eat to make sure he eats something.

I wouldn't feed chick at all. Your frog could end up with salmonella from eating raw chicken. You can feed raw salmon or tilapia to him as neither of those fish contain Thiaminase and re relatively inexpensive. I would also get rid of those pellets and go with a larger pellet as a staple food like Reptomin.
