Question Is it necessary to care for newly morphed Grey frogs differently than Adults?

Hi, I recently ordered some young CB Grey Treefrogs. They arrived yesterday but are nothing like the size I was advised they would be. One is about one and a half cm (ie half inch) nose to bum but the other is only one cm (3/8 inch) at the very most! Obviously they need feeding often with small pray but is it necessary to treat them in other ways differently from adult or young adult frogs I am more used to? Best regards Jay.

Hello Jay! Food needs to be same or smaller than distance between frogs eyes. You could keep them for now in a froglet type set-up with daily changed damp (use dechlorinated tap) unprinted paper towels for substrate. That will help prevent froglets from drying or drowning. Once they both are around 2 cm. SVL you can then move them to a vivarium or regular set-up .
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog !

Thank you, that is reassuring, I am so concerned because we had 10 young frogs last year, they looked really healthy were eating really well then they suddenly started dieing just one after another, I was so concerned it was my fault but after extensive (& expensive) tests it was blamed on a parasite which I am reassured by my very knowledgable vet all should now be well but I was not expecting such tiny frogs! I only got 2 by way of a trial but I don't want to make any mistakes! I had a small viv prepared but when I saw them I put them in something more appropriate. I have them on live moss though as I have had problems with kitchen towel going slimy in the past, is moss ok? It is rooted so isn't loose I have got a shallow bowl in there with just a dribble of water and a couple of flat pebbles but would you advise I lose the dish? I have one of my adults singing away At the moment I hope it doesn't mean there is another big storm coming! He is normally very good at weather forecasting! Thanks for your help. J

The only thing I've done different is smaller bugs and smaller water dish. Your temps & humidity will be the same no matter what size. I've moved my two babies into a 10 gallon vertical with moss bottom. But I do feed by tongs and bowl only, no free runners.
