Default is a basking light a bad idea

So I have just been reading that it's dangerous to use a basking lamp rather than a thermostated heat mat on a frogs enclosure as there's a risk of it drying out the frog. Surely though if it's appropriately misted and such the basking lamp creates a nice ambient temperature with an area of higher temp for the frogs.....

I should say Also this was read on another forum whilst googling other frogs

When the basking lamp is placed inside your setup, it could be dangerous. Frogs can jump and hit the lamp and burn themselves. There are some frogs that use a basking lamp for the heat, but make sure you use the right lamp and the right amount of height. If your setup is big enough your frogs can go to a cooler side of the setup. It all depends on what species you have.

In my honest opinion: I would use a heat mat and some special lamps for the plants.
