After our last impaction, I removed the Plantation Soil, and replaced with the fine ECO EARTH. I even went so far as to firmly pack it down.
He was ignoring tongs, but would go after the crickets in his cage. Five days ago, he slowed down, and then stopped eating.
Again...there was a huge hard mass on his right side.![]()
After five days of soaking, he finally passed it. So...no more feeding in his cage. I plan on removing him to a paper towel lined tub for feedings. Does it matter if the tub is clear or not? All I have are the clear 15 QT tubs.

Switch to nightcrawlers, don't give up. Coax him by rubbing the nightcrawlers on his bottom lip. I've noticed that when I changed all my frogs from locusts to nightcrawlers that they pooped alot better.

Have you broken the legs off the crickets so they can't escape and cause him to miss? Also how big are the crickets you are offering?
that's a good idea eventually he will associate the tub with feeding and readily accept food in it .Clear doesn't matter but you can always cover the container outside with paper .
i have clear and slightly color design tubs.ive seen no difference in eating habits due to tub color.save your money and use the clear tubs.

I am trying something out.
For three days now, he has eaten five crickets each night in his cage. He has pooped twice. His sides are mushy not hard.
The only change has been, that I have soaked him every morning for 20 mins.
Feeding in the tub was stressing him, and he refused to eat, but hopped around frantically.

My girl has this habbit too. She would hold her bowelmovements for 2 months in the beginning, honey baths and everything included, she just wouldn't poop. She even refuses to poop after eating a large mouse. I drop her in her pool twice a week now, she poops about every week and a half - two weeks. She is just so lazy, she has NEVER visited her waterdish herself.
