Hello, I created this post because I'm in need of some serious help. My Pacman frog recently had an intestinal prolapse which , when it happened, freaked me out for a bit and I rushed him to the veterinary office. Before the prolapse and vet visit he ate everyday! no matter what I fed him, from crickets to pinkies to meal worms, he ate them all. Now he is in so much pain when he eats and he's ravenous! Every time he goes to eat his meal his face becomes pained and instead of swallowing the cricket, he just makes a face of regurgitation and then his mouth is stuck like so until I hand feed him. I would take him back to the vet, but every time I do it's another 80 dollars! Don't get me wrong I'm a huge animals rights activist (not a crazy fly of the handle kind but the kind who has to help every poor soul I see) and I don't want him to be in pain, but I can't justify another 80 dollars when I only purchased him for 20! I already spent 160 on the two trips I took with him, I can't spend anymore! I need alot of advice and help, I don't want him to suffer. I recently found out too, that he isn't happy that it is 80 degrees in his tank and that he needs to be in a swampy environment instead of a muddy one. I'm going to try a new tank makeover and see if the change of scenery helps him to eat better. I have already switched my heat lamp to a lower setting so it wont be as hot but I'm going out tomorrow to get new substrate and foliage.
