I understand that they are extremely rare and sometimes xenopus.com has them, but I've always wanted to know just how much they cost. Does anybody have an approximate? Are they 20$ or 200$? (or even more?) each?

No idea. I don't think it's likely to find one outside of Xenopus Express like you said. If I ever see one for sale I will probably buy it.. and I will let you know how much it cost me. =)
Since you are in Spain; recommend contact Xenopus Express France at: Ph 0033 (0) 471572246; Fax 0033 (0) 471570547; email - xenopus.express@wanadoo.fr and ask them directly. When it comes to rare morphs; the cost is usually whatever the seller wants. As an example, I can get a regular Pacman for around $20; but a Mutant morph of the same frog can cost up to $5K!
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog!
Ah, thanks for the quick replies. I am actually living in the UK at the moment, but searching for piebald xenopus yields the same unsuccessful results. I've spoken in the past with Xenopus Express France and this was the reply:
Thanks for your mail.
Sorry but within Europe we are only permitted to supply
Xenopus to bona-fide research facilities and labs, so
sorry I cannot help.Everything is strictly regulated.
I do ship to the UK but the freight costs are expensive,
min. of 400 pounds for 5 kg.
So either I have to pay £400 (500$+ approx.) plus the cost of the frog, which could be a similar price. I don't know if this is expensive when dealing with extremely rare species. I'm used to dealing with £20 max when it comes to shipping. £400 is astronomically high and I wouldn't pay. EVEN if I did have the money, I am definitely not a bona-fide research body, although I believe my university has/is one. Maybe I could talk to them? I'm not sure.
I'm quite jealous of the variety my American friends have when it comes to these things. Europe still has to catch up in the hobby...

I have always been under the impression the piebalds usually have other deformities and are usually special needs frogs. Xenopus Express usually only offer males.
