I'm starting a new planted viv and am trying to decide between semiarid with a few species of succulents for P. sauvagii or semiaquatic with C. cornuta. Ive owned horned frogs in the past, but never in a planted viv because I figured theyd just dig it up. Any opinions, tips, etc? Im really liking the succulent idea, but have always wanted a surinam. Thanks
Personally, I prefer semi aquatic environments. But that's just me. I'm not a big fan of succulents.

Unlike bill, I on other hand love succulents and other succulent-ish looking plants haha! 2 things you should consider with setting up a succulent planted tank, a well-drained substrate medium (usually achieved by making a false bottom for drainage) and a full light spectrum.
Sanseverias, kalanchoes, sedums, low-growing non-spiny euphorbias, some single-petalled african violets, peperomias and some bromeliad species like cryptanthus on the ground and some tillandsias, spider plants (chlorophytum), million hearts (dischidia) grown and trailed along the back and sides would be nice for a semi-arid setup.
The Waxy's are arboreal, so you could set up an arboreal tank for them and have some succulents planted in substrate. Pacmans will probably tear the plants up and it's damp substrate/humidity requirements (80%) might be a bit "wet" for succulents to thrive. C. cornuta species are difficult feeders and considered expert level frogs by the way. Good luck !
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog !
Yeah im thinking a larger jade as a main perch with some of the other species Flicker mentioned and some sandblasted branches dispersed throughout. Do either of you have experiencr with waxys?
Btw i did not know that the cornutas were that difficult to keep....i consider myself to be at an intermediate level. Are they just fussy eaters? Ive always gone with cranwelli x cornuta hybrids because i like the cornuta traits so much more. The pacmans crack me up and i have a feeling the waxies will too.
