    Default RETF color change...

Hey eveyrone name is mike. Recently setup an aquarium and decided to get my 1st RETF. Just got him today and tonight is my 1st night with one. I fed him around 11:30 pm. He ate 2 crickets and then commenced to run around my aquarium. I got up to use the bath room and decided to mist him. I noticed he was not green anymore... he was like a dark brown, reddish, purple color. Is this color change normal? He is still moving around and acting fine as far as I can tell. Thanks in advanced for all the help

Hi there, welcome to the forum. Im sorry but I have no experience with Red eyed tree frogs but im thinking this could be due to the temperature. What is the temp and humidity level in there now? The temperature should be Day: 26-28 °C Night: 22-24 °C .
Reading the care sheet to the left of your screen may help you. It's great that your frog is eating because it shows to me that it is not too stressed out with the shift and being in the new environment.
There are lots of Red eyed tree frog owners on this forum so help wont be far away.

Can you please select your country as it will also help with helping you.

The temperature at the moment is 73F so its good. the humidity is around 65-70 ish. and I have a fan that helps circulate the air a bit (computer fan). I saw some pics on this forum a few seconds ago and a guy had them the same color and no one seemed to worried about it. ill make sure to change my location thingy. Thanks

The temp should be Day: 78-82 °F; Night: 71-75 °F. Your temp is ok for the evening. Red eyed tree frogs do change colour to blend in with their environment so its possibly just that. Are you able to post a photo of your frog and enclosure?
