Moss Browning
I'm not sure why, but the moss in my 38g fire belly toad enclosure is turning brown. Some of it is still green, but a lot is turning brown. It's not drying out, just changing in color. Anyone know why? I have a daylight bulb on for fourteen hours a day and am misting the enclosure usually every day with some skips.

I'm not a big fan of their moss or plants. Is it new? Sometimes sheet moss will die off and turn brown before new growth begins. Just try to keep it moist and cut the light cycle down to 12/12.

Then something had to change. Humidity drop or a rise in temp? As long as conditions are stable, moss is pretty tough to kill off.

Nothing's changed, though. Or maybe it's because the house is at a cooler temperature in winter. In summer, the house is 76, but nowadays it's in the low 60s. What do you think?

You could put a heat pad on the side, a heat lamp above, or just raise the temp in your home.

Remember, if all else fails, you can build a tardis and warm the tank using the time vortex. It seems to work for turkeys lol

Be sure your day bulb has full spectrum lighting of about 6500K and your moss will be happy. Depending on your moss species, temps are important too. Your fire bellies will be much happier with temps in the 70's. Win-win for both frogs and plants.
