I was just wondering if any of you peroidically (like 3-4 times a yr) bathe your frog in a warm water bath. i have a whites TF and i guess i'm a bit paranoid of impactation. My substrate is a coco fiber/orchid bark mix with a layer of humus on top. Impactation shouldnt happen, but i still worry cuz he's a sloppy eater. My frog seems to be getting a little plump, but its prob because he's just maturing (starting to croak a lot more too). Oh, btw, is there varying degrees of impactation or is it all or nothing (meaning if there is impactation at all, the frog will refuse to eat).
Yup, I bathe my frogs every couple weeks in warm water. I'm not concerned about impaction (I use coconut husk), but I think they (at least one of them) like it.

Hey Chris, haven't seen you on here in a while. Is that Dumper? So gorgeous.
Hi illadelfyaEAGLE, Ive never given my frogs a bath. Im curious now though. How do you warm your water and about what temp would it be? Is this beneficial to frogs apart from impaction concern? Or a lovely treat?![]()
Yeah, I'm still here, but not much time to post... have been very busy the last few months. Plus now I have a 7month old parrot (dusky conure) that demands all my attention when I'm home. Yup, that's Dumper. He's still fat and happy with the other two.
Ebony,
Yea i wondering if it may be beneficial besides impactation also. It kind of acts like a natural laxative, so maybe its good to clean em out once in a while. The warm temp (im guessing like 85-90 F) may even make any intestinal worms feel unconfomortable any maybe thet would pass also. I'm no herp. vet though so i dont really know.
