Default Thinking of getting into frogs!

Hi! I have fallen in love with tropical frogs and am considering setting up "frog keeping". I would love some direction in areas like enclosures, #of frogs/enclosure, difficulty of care, etc. I have available 5, 10, 50 and 70 gallon aquarium tanks. Should I pose questions in the appropriate forum or here? Thanks!

First you need to find out what species you want, then do tons of research on care, then set up your tank and let it settle in a bit. Then get your frog(s) from a reputable dealer and quarantine them in a hospital tank for 30 days. It sounds like a lot to do, but in the end you will end up with a healthy happy froggy friend.

Thank you Gail! I have narrowed the frogs down to tree and mantella. From there I am undecided; tank size, etc. I have done a lot of research but feel I could use more information from folks like you. I will pose questions about specifics in the appropriate forum!

There are several great people here with years of experience w/PDF. I personally love the natives like American Green Tree Frog & Cope's Grey along with toads (my fav) and for non-natives. WTF, no that's not anything bad, it stands for White's Tree Frog.

Mantellas are awesome little creatures! I love mine! There are a few of us who keep them. Sadly, they aren't as popular as the new world darts, but we're bringing them back!! Lol

I would highly suggest a trio of green tree frogs! There really cool and very active at night, most people think theyre lame because of how common and cheap they are. They dont eat to much and theyre really friendly. As for red eyes another great pet btw but theyre kinda delicate but theyre a really cool animal to watch for sure.Hope this info helped!
