    Default My New Lady

My snake dealer slash new found friend gave me this adult female asiatic rhinoceros beetle. I know it'll only live a few more months but until then, i might as well enjoy her company.

She borrows a lot and flies a lot at dawn too which is kinda noisy lol

Because natures an ***hole and these awesome inverts stay as grubs for a year, pupate then turn into these beauties. Stags live a lil longer usually one and a half years.

Coz the primary function of adult rhino beetles is to mate. They don't eat anymore as adults and their lifespan is usually around 4-6 months. This maybe drastically shortened after mating, laying eggs or the coming of autumn season (not applicable here lol)

That's a male, females don't have horns that big. Also the adults do eat, they eat beetle jelly but use bananas if you don't have any of that. Very cool, I'm jealous.

Is it? I had males before with bigger, forked horns than that and looked more like pincers when they move or make clicking noises.

    The same as this:

I'm 99.99% sure it's a male. The one you just pictured is a different species.
