How many drops do you add to one gallon jug ? I dont want to use too much and is it safe to use all the time for his water bowl.he's a whites tree frog, about 7 years old by the way..i noticed he's been having some muscles tremors and leg streching out I got him this for now and plan to take him to the vet as soon as i can =/ been a bad few months for him.

The water/drops ratio should be on the bottle of conditioner. I use Repti-safe (without calcium) to de-chlorinate my froggy's water and it calls for something like 5-7 drops per gallon. I have never used more than a drop at a time for their Jacuzzi, which holds roughly 2.5 measuring cups of water. You could alternatively treat the entire gallon of water and use it as needed, which would be the same thing. Again, check the instructions on the bottle/box to be sure that you are treating the water correctly.

The other part of your post mentions that he is having muscle tremors and other issues. I am not sure buying water conditioner with a calcium supplement is going a substitute for the vet at this point.

I hope your froggy feels better soon!

The aqua safe i use for reptiles and amphibians is 10drops to a gallon, this stuff is 2 drops per 1floz, so i guess it would be easier to just treat his dish. But anyway its the end of the month I wasnt substituting this for a vet visit i was getting this to see if it would help try and ease his muscles until i could make a vet visit until i could get paid. Over night he is already looking way better but I am still going to make that appointment.

Body tremors point to a neurological problem that could be caused by a calcium deficiency... or not. Can you tell us more about frog's diet and supplement intake the last couple months? Also, please describe the water you use in his dish (source and treatments) and how frequently you change it. Thank you !
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog !

I dust his crickets about 3 times a week and the crickets get oats carrots lettuce and cabbage. he just went through an impaction last month and he is having a problem now again with eating anything again he isnt blocked up. I have been doing honey baths pedialyte I am to the point were i am about to mush up crickets and feed him in a syringe. I am very broke and the only herp vet doesnt take payment so i have to wait till pay day. the water i use is tap with the other water conditioner i have is tertafauna aquasafe for reptiles and amphibians i use that in his bowl and for misting,I change his water every day.his whole body doesnt tremble just his legs and sometimes he stretches out a little and he wiggles his hands a little but sometimes i cant tell if he's nervous sometimes or something. But he seems to be doing much better and more alert after soaking in the calcium conditioner.

You are dusting often enough ......as long as he is eating the feeders?
How do you feed him ?.....do they roam free or do you feed him in a 'feeding bowl' ?

A photo of him would help .... We love to meet 'new frogs'

    Tell us about him:

    1-size of enclosure
2-# on inhabitants - specifically ( if there is another frog ---size differences ?)
    3-humidity
    4-temp
5-water - type - for both misting and soaking dish
    6-materials used for substrate
7-enclosure set up i.e. plants( live or artificial) wood, bark etc -how were things prepared prior to being put into the viv
    8-main food source
9-vitamins and calcium ? ( how often ) brand? vitamins -brand?
    10-lighting
11-what is, specifically, being used to maintain the temperature of the enclosure
12-when is the last time he ate
    13-have you found poop lately
14-a pic would be great ( including the frog ) any little cell phone pic is fine
15- how old is the frog
16-how long have you owned him
17- is the frog wild caught or captive bred
18- frog food- how often and if it's diverse what other feeders are used as treats
19- how often the frog is handled
20-is the enclosure kept in a high or low traffic area
21- describe enclosure maintenance ( water changes, cleaning etc)
22- has or was the frog properly quarantined

Can't remember where in FF I read this; but a member (think maybe Colleen/Jerrod or Lija) stated not to feed cabbage to crickets destined as frog food . Apparently there is something in cabbage that is not good for frogs. I feed mine romaine lettuce instead !
