    Smile Horned Frog "Croaked"

The Horned Frog "croaked" a couple of time this morning. That is the first sound I have heard. I presume it is a male.

Yes, if it calls, it's a male ! Can also look for the presence of nuptial pads in the frogs front legs "thumbs."
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog !

How old is your frog? I've been wondering when they start to call cuz I'm still unsure of the sex of my frog

2.5" to 3" is normally when they start. Its more about size than age.

When do the nuptial pads show up? My frog is about 2.5 in. And I don't see any. I'm also not completely sure what to look for lol. I know they are on the hands

I don't know how old FROG is. He is about 3-3 1/2 inches long. I think he has grown like a weed. I bought him from Petco here in Juneau on the 10th of December. He was being kept in a small "tank" with just moss as a substrate. He didn't look good when I brought him home. What's with hiring people off the street who wouldn't know a Anole from a salamander as far as Petco and PetSmart are concerned. I'll say it again, I rescued him.
