Sweet, that is great Kam. You are going to be a good mom for them
Hey guys! I have tried to attach pics of the frogs. Could you check out the small wound (I think) on one of the little guys backs? Advice? I think he scratched his skin somehow.
Also, one of them began croaking today- doesn't that mean he is a boy? I am not sure which one croaked though.
Thanks a lot!
Sorry- just read what I wrote. This is just one of the frogs. The other was hiding and I didn't want to bother him. Kam
I see noting out of the ordinary. There is a spot upon it's head, but that could be just some debris. Yes, boy frogs call.
I agree with Kurt. Even if not debris mine get little dark spots here and there sometimes and then they go away. Just keep an eye on it
Well, I learned something today on this topic. Now I have a question of my own....Can amphibians absorb parasite medicine through their skin? Someone told me to put several drops of diluted Panacur on the skin on their backs. So is this true or not?
This is true. However, it is critical not to overdose with this method. You need to dissolve 25mg/kg of bodyweight. As you can see it is difficult to dose with frogs that only weigh 2 or 3 grams. I have only used this method in extreme cases when I felt I was losing the battle. Kurt uses liquid Fenbendazole and might be able to share how to dose it without having to dissolve the powder preperation. I prefer the dusting method, you don't have to be precise.
