I'm new to frogs. I fell into it when my mom had tree frogs lay tons of eggs in her rain barrel. I've never done the tadpole to frog thing in school, so I took the eggs and watched them develop. Most grew into frogs and went on their merry way, but about 200 remained tadpoles into the fall. So instead of dumping them outside, I brought them in. I got a crash course on raising and feeding those little buggers (that what my husband says they look like) and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I recently donated all but 5 to the local YMCA Summer Camp's new nature center. The house was feeling empty and I saw someone selling an FBT really cheap on Craigslist so I bought it. Skittish, crazy fellow. Hubby suggested Habanero which I shortened to Nero - like the crazy Roman emperor. Then I learned that FBT are social animals so I went to Petsmart and bought another one. This one is the complete opposite so we named it Mellow Mango. Yes, together, they make Mango Habanero - our favorite hot wing sauce! LOL!But Mango hasn't eaten in the past week. He's very lethargic and I can't tell if that's his personality or if something is wrong. After reading up on Petsmart and how they may acquire these frogs from the wild instead of breeders, I wonder if he's sad about being in captivity. I know I'm sad for him if that is true. Anyway, I'm taking him to the vet tomorrow to look him over and maybe even force feed him some red wigglers.
So that's my story. If I'm successful with these two, I look forward to venturing into the gorgeous dart frogs!

. Their slime is foul tasting and will teach frogs to stay away from worms. Force feeding them RWs is akin to frog torture
