My frog is being improperly housed HELP!!!!

Hello, I have just purchased my first frog (C. Cornuta) from Reptile Pets Direct I emailed them asking how he was housed and what substrate he was being kept on they replied "Currently, we keep them in 6 inch deli cups on exactly 1/2 inch of distilled (reverse osmosis) water. Nothing else." This troubles me to endless amounts should I ask for a refund? (Having already sent them the money) I do know that distilled water can and will rob them of essential nutrients and minerals they need to hydrate. I have already emailed them asking if they can use tap water treated with seachem prime. I need them to hold on to my frog because it is currently to cold to ship him any information will be appreciated.

I've looked them up and have some bad news, "Reptile pets direct is affiliated with backwater reptiles. Do your due diligence, read the fauna classifieds reviews, and come to your own conclusions . GL.".
We have a review topic on backwater reptiles and it's not a great one. You could try asking for your money back, or you could take a chance and I sincerely hope you won't be dissapointed, but looking at the reviews, I would try and cancel.

I have looked into this backwater reptiles affiliation and how they could be "the same company" but they are located in 2 completely different states....I do know that backwater isn't a trustworthy company

Read this topic : Inquiry Reptile Pets Direct - Page 3 - FaunaClassifieds A person ordering from Reptile Pets Direct had backwater reptiles name on the statement, and a few others found it out too.

This seems to happen a lot, especially online. A company gets a lot of bad reviews and begins to lose business. They then form a new 'company' or name but still continue doing business under their already established company name (parent company). They continue this until everyone catches on....and the process starts over.

Not saying that is what is happening here but Backwater has a rightfully earned bad reputation and I am not surprised.
