I gave Frog an earthworm just now and "he" grabbed it right away. Since I got the frog all "he's" eaten is gut loaded and dusted crickets. Now I have to find information on how to keep earthworms![]()
Awesome! I remember when i had my tomato frog, seeing him eat his first earthworm was so exciting![]()
"A Righteous man cares for his animals" - Proverbs 12:10
1.0.0 Correlophus cilliatus
2.1.0 Bombina orientalis
0.1.0 Ambystoma mexicanum
0.0.1 Ceratophrys cranwelli
1.0.0 Litoria caerulea
1.1.0 Dendrobates auratus "Nicaraguan"
0.0.2 Dendrobates tinctorius "Azureus"
I have tried since then and FROG couldn't care less about eating more earthworms.
That has been a one time thing. FROG hasn't eaten another earthworm since.![]()
What kind of earthworms are you using? Red wrigglers have a foul tasting slime and frogs will rarely eat them (or other similar worms) twice.
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog!
O M G ! After reading this post this morning it was feeding time for the froggies. (yes they eat during the day, all three of them). I did the usual routine which is to feed Tuko his fat Canadian Nightcrawler, then offered a smaller earthworm to my fantasy frog. Naturally he didnt eat it (never has), left it in there and moved on to the Albino which ate straight away as per usual. Fed Tuko a second worm and went back to retrieve the worm from the fantasy frog's enclosure and it was GONE! GONE! I was like, what? Where did it go? O M G he ate it! I holy crapped a bunch of times and did a little dance. WOO! He had only eaten dusted crickets and the occasional snuck in cockroach! HOORAY!
I attribute it to this thread
Thanks!
Carole
That's what they are, Red Wrigglers. I can see why" he" isn't eating any more. Thanks for the information Carlos.![]()
Thanks Carlos. Now I'll have to find someone who sells them. Will anything eat Red Wrigglers?![]()
You can get regular nightcrawlers at Wal-Mart

Not at this WalMart here.![]()
Thanks reptileszz. I know someone who has an adult Red-Eared Slider. May be it will eat them. No place in Juneau to buy regular earthworms or night crawlers.![]()
