They ones that make the barking sound are males, that's for sure. You also have more than enough hiding places for your toads. The new ones are just taking up their new surroundings, and they will be fine after a week or so. Make sure to leave them alone and they will take a dive into the water when they are up to it. About figuring out the sexes, you can only be sure about their gender when they are mature. Males tend to be a bit smaller than females. Also, males make the barking mating sound. Not very load, but very entertaining listening to. Males also have a different form of front legs.

My husband hasn't even noticed it yet, the toads are in my office next to the bedroom....I figure he thinks it's a dog barking outside, haha.
