Default RETF Baby "Thing" on is back/butt

I was out of town and my wife texted me several pictures of one of our new RETF babies and was worried about the thing she saw on it's back/butt. I have not looked at it up close yet, but plan on doing so tonight.

To me the below picture makes it looks like that maybe some of the medium from the fruit fly cup got in his tank and then ended up on his back and has now dried to him. I asked her while i was out of town to give it a soak in some warm dechlorinated water, but she said he would just climb right out of the water as soon as he was put into it.

    Any ideas?

Looks to me like something from the tank got on it and stuck. I would try to wipe it off gently. You may be able to spray it off too. You might want to try spraying first.

    Hi Paul,
I agree...it does look like FF medium. It's sticky stuff.
Just leave it...he will scrape it off.
    or
Dampen it... and just pick it off !
    or
You could spritz (that area only ) w de-chlor water when he is sleeping.
    It may rinse off

    It's nothing ...no worry

We got it wet last night and this morning it is gone! These 2 little guys/gals we have in quarantine are super active. So fun to peak in on them climbing all over the place.
