I have a small 30x30x30 exo terra with canopy to house my albino horned frog, I installed a 40w red heat bulb but noticed it says on the canopy itself that bulb wattage should not exceed 25w, is it going to blow up or something with my 40w bulb in??
Had I known this I wouldn't have bought it in the first place, I could actually do with a higher wattage if anything else??
Help please!!

A 25w bulb won't provide nearly enough heat for my Pac man, not too sure what to do?
Those canopies are made for CFLs(Compact Fluorescents bulbs) not incandecent. You may have go go with a dome lamp instead of the canopy.
On another thread someone told me I could use any bulb with it?
Also I have a blue 40w compact bulb but never heats the tank enough :-(

Putting a 40w bulb in a 25w fixture can cause an overheating and over draw condition on the socket itself and could very possibly catch fire. Best to follow the recommendations of the manufacturer and not some random person off the Internet, unless it's Grif, of course
