I have a piece of bog wood from an older tank that previously housed FBTs, it has a lovely coat of Java moss on it that I would like to keep. However, I need to clean/bake the wood to make sure that it is sanitary enough to put in a new build that I am planning. I know this is going to sound cheap because Java moss doesn't cost much but, is there a way that I could scrape the moss off, "clean" it and grow it in another tank without worry of possible disease transmission or should I just stop this silliness and buy new Java moss altogether? If I do buy new Java moss how would I "clean" it to be certain that nothing hitched a ride from the pet/plant store?
