Male?

I heard my whites tree frog calling the other day. It sounded like a duck and I heard it for about 5-10 seconds. Does this mean its a male. I thought it would be far too young to croak so maybe he was just speaking to me?

Sounds like a boy to me. Mine started calling at about 5 months of age.

I know that females can call too, just they can't inflate their vocal sacs when doing so. I'll just have to wait until his nuptial pads appear to tell for certain. He is growing very fast, almost doubled in size since I got him just days before Christmas.

huh.......I've never my girl make noise one time, I tried to force meds down her throat shortly after I got her, but that was more like a cry than a call. Broke my heart to hear it also. Interesting.
