Default DAP Fireblock Foam Sealant: Good for Background?

Hello all. My name is Will. I used to frequent the caudate.org forum a lot and I joined this forum in its beginning with the hopes of acquiring some type of frog, although that ultimately did not come through. After a four hiatus from keeping pets and participating in various forums, I have decided to take one of my old tanks and construct a dart frog vivarium (an area I never ventured into in my past). I have been researching this forum and other websites for ideas and information the last couple weeks. I went to Home Depot today to buy supplies, but I could not find Great Stuff. Instead, I bought DAP Polyurethane Fireblock Foam Sealant. I was wondering if this was safe/effective to use as a background? I bought it thinking I could always return it if not.

I want to say it should be safe, but the truth is, I am not sure what the fire retardant chemical that they use is and whether or not it will leech into the tank. My best guess is that as long as you don't carve it, it should be fine. The outer skin won't leech anything out. I would only be concerned about water running though exposed foam under the skin.

Personally, I prefer the GE spray foam Most of my local walmarts carry it. It's under $3/ can. It cures white and with smaller air bubbles.

Thank you very much Bill. I think I'll probably just return it and go check Walmart today. That is also a much better deal than the $10 I paid for this stuff.
