It has been three weeks since Vixen arrived. After we cleared up his impaction, he has been doing really good. He is still a baby at 29 grams. We are still working on tong feeding. However, I think he is training me. He sits and waits for me to corral the crickets, and run them past him. He just reaches out, and grabs them.
He is eating 4 crickets daily.
He has established a routine. He stays partially buried during the day, but at 4:00 he is out. I put him in his water bowl, he poops, and then hops out for his feeding. He is really not this big and round, he just puffed up for his picture.

Also as a warning to every one. I was using the Exo Terra Plantation Soil in his cage. I think that is what caused the impaction. I am switching to the Zoo Med Eco Earth. It is a finer ground coir, and is what I have used for all my Gecko hides.

Another update, Vixen is doing GREAT! He is pooping, and eating 5-6 crickets daily. Loves to poop in his water dish ...ugh. But that is ok.
Very active in the evening, when I am feeding him. He is up to 36 grams. Looks like I will need to get a bigger water bowl, since he is filling out nicely.![]()

You should be happy he poops in his waterdish! The substrate remains cleaner and it's easyer to dispose off.![]()
I wish my guy would poop in his dish! He almost never moves from his one favorite whole, I've still never seen his poop!

Here he is at 36 grams. See what I mean about the water dish, and out growing. That is a 4" diameter lid. Assuming he was around 3 months, when I purchased him, he is now 4 months.

LOl i know what you mean my Sam has a stainless steel frying pan lid now .It takes 2 hands to hold her dean can almost swim in it . He is outgrowing his expensive water bowl as well .The wifes not so thrilled with losing a pan lid but eh i bought her a new pan and lid to replace the one i used .My frogs poop in both their water bowls and the tank im always cleaning both. the reptifogger i use helps them a lot they come out after it stops and hop around a bit at night .When they are hungry they will stay out of the substrate ( their heads mainly and look at me when i pass by the tank ). Eventually they a get a routine going .you get used to it.
I often buy big candy tubs, (I am a serious sweettooth) and my female frogs get these as waterdishes. They are about 14 x 6 x 2.5.
