Thanks for sharing video on super cute tadpole .

To insert videos, use the fourth link to the right of the "Smileys." Just click, paste your You Tube or similar URL into it, and select OK. Good luck with tads!
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog !

Thanks for the tip. I see it in there twice now so I guess it worked the first time and it just wouldn't show up on my screen. This is my first time with red eye tads so it will be a learning experience. Not much info on care of these little guys but I will try my best. As of now I have about 6 out of the water

I have been good. A little overwhelmed with tadpoles at the moment but that's never a bad thing haha. How have you been?

Good here also. Just consumed with the holidays, the weather, and now post holiday organizing.

How many frogs do you have now? How about tads?

As of now I have 16 adult frogs and about 60-70 tadpoles/froglets. Way too many.

If anyone has bred these before would you mind sending me a PM? I have some questions I would like to ask. This is a first for me and I really don't know the best way to go about this. As of now I have them in a 20 gallon long that's about 1/3 full of water. I have a few big rocks for them to climb out on but they all seem to prefer the glass. They go to the top and fit in between the screen lid and the plastic lip around the tank. I have plastic wrap covering the lid to keep in humidity. I am not sure if I should remove the ones who are out of the water and put them in something different or if that would be a bad idea since I have seen tads like to return to the water. I was thinking about putting some gravel in the bottom of a big sterilite container and adding some water so there are little puddles in the gravel. Then just keeping a lid on until they fully absorb their tail. Then once the tail is fully absorbed I will move them to another container with paper towels in the bottom and start feeding from there. Does that sound correct?

Your best reference would be Michael Novy or Zach Brinks of Joshsfrogs. I'll send you a PM when I get home from work.

It took a while for me to get this shot. I walked in at the right time though, all the tadpoles were being very active and they are not camera shy at all. Here is a video of one transferring to land for the first time. I also added my touch of slo-mo since my camera does that.

That's so cool! I've never raised a tree frog tad. How exciting to get to see their first climbs out of the water. Great slow-motion! Thanks!

Thank you. So far it's been a nice learning experience. Hopefully I am doing everything right. I messaged mike and Josh's frogs on Facebook but didn't get a response. I am sure they are very busy though. I lost 2
froglets due to not pulling them out soon enough I think. They just morph within a few days so it was a bit overwhelming. I have then started pulling them as they leave the water and absorb some of their tail. For now I have them in a 10 gallon and they like to climb all the way to the top and get in the plastic lip. There are 13 in there right now and you don't see a single one because they are all as high up as they can get. Hopefully tomorrow that number increases as more start to leave the water

Try adding a few thoroughly rinsed pothos plants. Clean them of all soil, debride and possible pesticides and fertilizers. Rinse, rinse, rinse. I do a 10% bleach dip to mine, followed by another thorough rinse, then a good extra-dechlorinated water soak to make sure all chlorine is reversed. If there is just a bit of light in the room and you most the pothos each day, they will live awhile in the quarantine tank. I bet they hang on the plants . Do you have springtails ready?

Yes I have tons of springs. I will probably be feeding mostly fruit flies. I also have some dwarf white isos but they are in abg and it would be a mess to harvest them without getting everything dirty. I will be investing in a pothos soon then just to give them something else to climb on. It will make my life a little easier if they use that instead of the lip around the tank haha. They all give me the stare down when I open the lid like they wanna make a run for it
