That helps a ton, thank you! I picked up the exo-terra today so I will be posting a build thread for that soon.

Another question I had is about using great stuff in an aquatic portion. I believe that I've read that I just have to seal the GS with silicone and it should be fine submerged, do I have this correct or am I missing something?

Yes, Great stuff is water resistant, but not water proof so sealing it with some sort of water proofing agent is best if it will be submerged. They also make Great stuff for ponds (its black) but it costs a decent amount more that the regular yellow GS.
