Hi all. I've been browsing this site for awhile. Decided to finally join. I've had a love for these ferocious little fellows for awhile now. My very first pacman was z brown Cranwelli "Flapjack"in 08, I had throughout high school. Was a member over at fatfrogsforum awhile back. Nothing like exchanging pacman talk or any unique creature. Skip to present and I'm a junior at LSU and decided to get another one of these little fellows.
This is Webby
He's about the size of a quarter. Very opposite of my first pacman. Very ferocious eater. He DOES NOT take to tong feedings. Absolutely will not eat out of them and will quickly jump away. Dropped crickets, take off all but two legs so they squirm but don't move easy way for him to get them, and nightcrawlers on wet paper towels in tank and he goes into hunt mode instantly. Very clumsy still. He's quarter size but he can take down 2-3 inch nighties. Hates any contact and usually stays buried until complete darkness. I am guilty of un-burying him to make sure he eats before I go to sleep. He does immediately and stays out until daytime.
I'm looking into getting a clear drawer system (setup of 3). As well as waiting on petco to see if they can get in my order of Ornate and an Albino. Glad to be able to take care of these little guys again and to be on the site.
Frog looks very nice. Recommend not place frog in carpet or any surface exposed to cleaning chemicals. This article has good info on them and their care: Frog Forum - Pacman and Horned Frogs - Ceratophrys - Care and Breeding. Good luck!
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog!
Hi welcome aboard and welcome back!![]()
Spoke to soon about the night crawler.. I split it in half but was still rather large 2-3 inches... Webby looks pretty bloated since then.. I fed him the night crawler Monday night he devoured it.. Hasn't eaten since.. I've offered him crickets since then with no success.. I'm hoping nothing serious maybe just a slow digestion and a big poop coming.. I'm going to just soak him in warm water for now to see if it helps ease things along.. The pics doesn't really do justice he looks pretty plump
