My 2 RETF hide in random places each day. They typically are on the leaf of a plant or pressed into dark corner to hide out for the day. I am sure they are in there and will turn up. Froggies are freaking Ninjas.

Hi ,
Welcome to Frog Forum
Congratulations on your new frogs ! I bet you are very excited
They're ....there - hiding .....adjusting. It's hard on them.
May I suggest that your small frogs be transferred into a QT set-up.
This is so very important !!!!
It's a is simply......... small ( say 10 gallon tank). It's to help them get acclimated
One in which the top is suited to help maintain proper heat and humidity levels.
You could cover three sides of the tank to help them feel more secure.
It should be kept in a low traffic area; w/out any light at all --for 12 hours at night -until they are adjusted .
The benefit of this is to monitor :
1) their food intake ( very small frogs in a lg enclosre could have trouble finding their food)
2) their poop
3)their behavior
4) and most importantly if they are well
( enabling you to identify a frog that might be ill or have parasites).
Best, Lynn

All my tree frogs play hide-n-seek. Thinking about changing their names to Waldo. Just take caution when you open and close the lid/door when changing water, removing poo, putting in/out feeder bugs.....
