    Default Re: Help! Sick frog!

    Hi
I am so sorry to see your frog is having problems ?
If he were mine I would get him to herp vet if there is ANY broken skin.
IMO...any broken skin... at any time ...needs an antibiotic / instructions for a topical treatment

In the meantime use neosporin or bacitracin on any broken skin ( obviously torn and/or bleeding )
Try to find cream vs ointment, if possible.
WARNING: do not use the neo or bacitracin that contains pain reliever as this could kill your frog.
Don't get it near his eyes.
As mentioned, it's best to talk to a vet about this, as the vet will have the best treatment.

    I would remove him from the tank > into a quarantine/hospital set-up.
Use plain - dampened paper towel for substrate- dampened with de-chlorinated water -OLNY
Separate all tank mates for now.

I would get him into a nice long soak. De- chlor water only !It the very cleanest soaking dish possible.
Boil a glass dish and let it cool !!!!

some soak and QT help here:

I would completely breakdown the tank.
    The tank itself and everything in it needs to be sterilized with a VERY VERY diluted bleach solution;
then soaked in clean tap water and with -Rinsed with ----- lots and lots and lots of - de-chlorinater added to the rinse water to assure all the bleach/chlorine is removed.
    rinse rinse rinse !

cut and past...answers these questions here/ in this, your thread.

Is there any possibility of an exposure to any kind of chemical?
What do you clean the tank and the water bowl with ?

Does this always get worse after a shed?
Is the humidity maintained ....it looks dry.
It appears to me the humidity could be less than 50% ? So, hard to tell from the photos.

If this is a Litoria infratfrenata, as it appears to be.
    Are you using UVB lighting?

Specifically ....what are the current/ and typical temp and humidity levels?

I am not a vet. My first gut thought is...... this is a shedding problem?

    Best, Lynn
