    Default Inflate Themselves With Air?

Looks to me like horned frogs inflate themselves with air to appear larger. FROG seems to do this. Is this true?

Yup, a threat response. Just like peeing on your hand if you stress them out.

You'll really know for sure if they're mad when they bark and scream at you.

I have a whites tree frog that does that. Scared the hell out of me the first time he did it. I have to hand feed him roaches and when he doesnt want one he lets me know!

My pep does a cute little "orif" kinda sound when I dig him up to do his weekly bath and substrate clean.
But he's never barked or screamed.
He does croak at odd times.

Some frogs and toads even inflate themselves in between crevices and burrows to prevent a predator from pulling them out.

Thanks DeserHeat for the quick reply. I have had wild Boreal Toads here in Juneau pee when you would pick them up. I have only picked up Frog once that was after I bought "him" to put "him" in the vivarium. I will have to pick Frog up soon when I clean the vivarium.

Best way to pick them up is from behind. It protects your fingers from being mistaken for something edible!

Just make sure to cup Frog in such a way he can't jump out of your hand and fall. Don't want him to get injured.

Here's a good video to help you get an idea: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nJ_a...e_gdata_player

If your frog looks bloated kinda poke his side. If it feels poorly its air. But if it feels squishy like full of water it could be a sign of your frog toxing out from something.
