Dear all,
Hi, I am new guy here. I just got a Vietnamese Mossy Frog, Theloderma corticale ,and with some questions about their habit.
1. The frog has accepted crickets already, he ate them both in the dark and under the light. But, to get enough crickets in anytime for me is a little bit harder. Can the Mossy accept mealworms or super mealworms as main food? Or crickets become the only choice?
2. From the finger of the Frog, I think he is a male. According to the web, I found someone described the call of Mossy frogs “Like a kookaburra”! Little terrible…Is it true? And, If the male only make sound at the breeding seasons, or they will sing in anytime?
3. How long lifespan can a Mossy frog have? After some check they have 5 year record in captivity. Can the number be more longer with best care?
And, My friend has a Serrate-legged Little Treefrog(Not very sure if the correct English name), Philautus cavirostris, and we have kept him more than six months. He just made call before now! We hope that he can back to his natrue habitat in his life. But…As the last question above, How long can this species(or any relatives) survive? Can he waits the possible day when we have the chance to let him return?
Many thanks to your any replies!
