The snails at this age and size (as seen in my photo) have shells that are quite bendable almost like plastic if that makes sense? The full grown snails have harder shells but are easily crunched by a larger frog, chameleon, lizard, etc. the shells ARE an excellent source of calcium.

One of the easier feeders that I've kept. Actually they are almost like pets because I keep them under my desk where I can see them. The only hassle is cleaning the walls off once the snails slime the place up.

Other than that, leave them alone, keep them fed with lettuce, cucumber, cuttlefish bone, etc and let them do their thing.
