    Default Feeding my Whites tree frog

    I've seen some people feeding whites tree frogs rosy red minnows is that ok to do?? What do you guys think??

    IMO feed what they would find in the wild. I'm not sure how many WTF have the fishing skills to pull that off. Pretty much the same goes with feeding pinkie mice. I just can't see a WTF digging through a pile of Momma mouse fur to get to her babies, and her letting them.

    I was thinking that to! Seems strange but if they would benefit from it i guess it's ok... Still nervous about doing it thou

    These fish are commonly sold as 'feeder fish' and are really not a great idea for several reasons. Since they are raised as feeders they are raised in extremely poor conditions where bacterial, viral, parasites.. you name it.. runs rampant. Many feeder fish are diseased.

    The second reason is that like goldfish, these fish contain thiaminase which is not healthy for any predator. While I doubt you would feed your frog enough fish to make an impact, thiaminase is bad news and should be avoided.

    I wouldn't feed fish to any frog. It's not worth the risk.
