Michael,
It depends on the use,

For hydration of substrate, water bowl or water feature in the enclosure.
Soaks for the frog,
Treated tap water with a high quality water treatment like Sea Chem prime. is the best for these uses.



Now for Foggers , misting the enclosure and not the frog directly. Distilled water is the preferred type since it will not leave spots on glass
and will not leave mineral deposits in foggers or misting systems.

In reality bottled water can't be trusted. Since you don't know 100% where it came from or what is in it.
I have learned that the hard way.
I used inexpensive bottled water to run my fogger but had a problem with minerals that were added.

BTW you can get the above sea chem prime on amazon pretty cheaply check the price at your local pet store first and shipping charges.

You can use distilled for misting ONLY. For expanding substrate or in the water dish you need either bottled spring water or treated tap water. Distilled doesn't have any minerals in it, and can cause serious health problems for the frog.

Everyone above is right, do not use distilled water for anything but misting or a fogger.

It's ok I read up on some books before i went to the store today. (Allways a good idea) and I bought some bottled water and 1 gallon of distilled. I probably shouild have looked at frog forum to edit my last post in between. Sorry bout that. I promise I'm not going to kill my frog with lack of minerals. ~Michael

Lesson learned edit posts. I just bought 2 gallons of distilled and 3 of spring.(I need the distilled for something else also) (also I just bought rubber tipped tongs for my Pac man off Amazon they are on sale!) Have a good night and a marry Christmas~Michael
